1  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Tis the Season on: December 09, 2018, 09:12 AM
To all of our members and friends - Happy Advent and Happy Hanukkah.
2  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Potential Scripts From True Crimes on: November 09, 2018, 10:09 AM
Makes you wonder about people.  Don't remember whether I mentioned it in this subject - saw a Storage Wars a while ago where some buyers of a storage unit took something to be appraised and the people doing the appraising were furries.  I used to think it was something the writers of the script had made up.
This one is a shame for the young girl and the friend who did the killing.  Ruined lives.  Also shows people are too quick to grab a gun these days.

Ah yes, I remember them well - after you reminded me.  CCF was pretty bad; Let it Bleed was better and as I recall Nick had a good part in that one.  Don't remember the dog one but then I don't watch any episodes after Grissom left, not even the ones with Sara - exception the one with Grissom's mother.  Had hoped she'd be able to return in another episode but as we all know, fate stepped in.

Watched most of Secrets and Flies - one of CSI's best.  When Grissom and Catherine are in the hall, he questions her about Dr. Ryan's complaint  concerning remarks made by Catherine during a conversation.  Instead of quoting Leviticus, Grissom should have reminded Catherine that she is not supposed to express her personal beliefs when talking to someone involved in a case.  His lack of being firm about her conduct, which happened far too often, did not help establish the 'boss' relationship we've talked about before.  In a sense this does give Catherine some excuse for her occasions of insubordination.

Happy Hallowe'en, everyone.  Trying to remember whether we had a CSI episode that was more or less based on this and nothing comes to mind.

You are so right.  Remember the episode where the mother drowned her daughter in the carnival ride?  Catherine said she had to leave and I'm sure we all thought it was to go home to her daughter but no -  off to sleep with the current bed partner.  In relation to Grissom, she often acted as though she thought she was the boss.

Seems to me Sara never got all the credit due her.  Focus was mainly on how smart Catherine was.  And where was her loyalty to Grissom?  No loyalty when Sara's deductions interfered with her own?  One of the reasons Catherine was down the list of my favorites.

SYFY is showing a couple of the earlier episodes.  Just finished Nesting Dolls.  Love the end - Catherine and Ecklie ask Grissom what he's done to discipline Sara.  Tells Grissom Sara is a loose cannon with a gun and all his.  Does the expression on Grissom's face mean he's be happy for her to be all his?!
9  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: October 6, 2000--on this day in history! on: October 07, 2018, 02:43 PM
I didn't start watching until the third season.  Was visiting friends in Chicago and they introduced me to it.  Hooked from then on.  Agree with B-J - Grissom, Sara and Brass were also my favorites with Nick coming in fourth.  I watched a few episodes on ION but then they went back to the Langston debacle years and I quit watching.
10  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: discontinuing the Board on: October 04, 2018, 08:09 AM
Since I don't do Facebook that wouldn't suit me.  We can continue here - it's not a problem.  My thought was only whether it was worth keeping it since we go days at a time with no posts.  We'll just keep it going here and continue to post when something strikes any one of us.  Thanks for the replies.
11  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / discontinuing the Board on: October 01, 2018, 08:48 AM
Since so few of us still make any comments on the Board it hardly seems worth while to continue with it.  Those few of us who do make an occasional comment could just as easily do it by private email with the four or five of us included in the address.  All of you please let me know your opinion - think about it, no hurry.  Right now it says it needs to be updated and I hate to ask Chris who is very busy to take time for this when so few people show any interest.

S-P - And by not paying any attention to what happened in previous episodes.  We could name quite a few gaffes on that score.  The one I hated most was moving Sara's birthday.
13  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: really funny on: September 13, 2018, 07:35 PM
Yes, I'm not watching those.  Couldn't stand him either.  I think the message we all get after posting is the need to update the site.  I'll let Chris know but he's pretty tied up right now down in SC.

Caught a bit of Dead Ringer and see Happenstance is one of the episodes showing on ION tonight.  Both good; Happenstance one of my favorites.
