Maybe he got the idea from watching Toe Tags.  I loved that episode.
2  CSI General Discussion / Fan Fic / Re: Getting There--new fanfic on: February 03, 2015, 10:48 AM
I haven't read fan fiction in ages but that was a really good story.  You write really well, s-p.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.
3  CSI General Discussion / Off Topic / Re: What's your job-career-profession? on: July 08, 2014, 08:34 AM
I am an administrative assistant and have been working at the same consulting firm now for 16 years (just had an anniversary).  I've been fortunate for the most part by having supervisors who recognize that I have a brain and can accomplish a lot more than making copies.  I have, over the years, done meeting planning for meetings here in DC, in Texas and Los Angeles.  I've worked at meetings in DC and Baltimore and had the pleasure of getting kudos - not just from our clients but also from the participants.  That was probably the best part of my job.  I've also become proficient in copy editing, which I actually enjoy doing. I guess the best part though is that the projects we work on are geared toward helping people make a better life - getting support from absent fathers, helping fathers find work and keep it so they can support their children, and all types of services for older people (which applies to me!).    As with any job, there have been some bad times.  2010 was a bad year due ot my company being bought by a huge company and making lots of changes  - none of them positive to my mind!  However, since then, things have settled down and our attention stays on our projects now.  Plus, the people I work with are great.  They were very supportive of me during the sickness years (2011-2013) and are still sympathetic to my inability to do some things.

Come on, Dy.  Nick and Sara have a brother/sister type of relationship.  I wouldn't want to see that spoiled by a romance.  Besides, Sara and Gil are going to get back together!

Morgan had  19 minutes??  No wonder I didn't care for this episode.

Paul is an awesome actor and could play off of anyone so I'd like to see more of him and DB also.  Truthfully, I'd just really like to see more of Paul - period.

I was wondering, beau, if that was the case.  As I commented in a different thread, I started watching the series again, starting with Season 1.  I'm so glad they changed Brass' personality as quickly as they did from the nasty guy in the first couple of episodes to the go-to guy for all of the CSIs.  It has been really great though seeing Brass in the early episodes.  He was a real part of the show - much more so than he is now.  Watched Fur and Loathing last night.  At the end of the episode, Grissom and Catherine were sitting in Brass' office, rehashing what had happened, just as I imagine it would happen in real life.

Now, we're lucky if we even get to see Brass interview a suspect.  That is just wrong.

CgrGrl, the way episodes have been going, you definitely need a gold star to continue watching enough to time the people.  I don't think I could do it.  I do appreciate that you do it though and I love the "Not Nick" comment.  Boy, is he ever Not Nick!
9  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Character Screen Time Thread on: September 27, 2013, 07:25 AM
Wow.  I knew DB was in it a lot and I know he's the main star but they kind of overdid it in this episode.  But then again, I didn't like the eppy so that's probably why I thought they gave him too much time.

wildflower, I will agree that LF has "presence".  My problem is......he has presence.  Of course, I was never a fan of Fishburne to begin with but I have to say I really hated him on CSI and was never so happy as when he left.  I also blame the writers though because his character was poorly done and his episodes were pretty awful.  I appreciate that there are plenty of fans out there who really like LF and liked his character of Langston.  I really wish I could have been one of them but it did not click for me.  I like DB ever so much better and partly because he appears to be willing to be part of an ensemble and not monopolize the episodes the way LF did.

While not exactly like they used to be, I do find that episodes are much more balanced now than they were when LF was on there.  I'm not sure it's because Ted doesn't have the same kind of presence before a camera as much as it is that he knows how to play to a television camera.  It's a smaller style and movie type acting doesn't work as well on TV.  Some movie actors know how to tone it down for TV so that it works for them.  I just don't think LF knew or wanted to know how to make it work.

Oh, I think Nick's most prominent trait is that he's a good, ole country boy - polite, considerate and empathetic.

It sounds terrible to say it but I thought Catherine's prominent trait was being a bit man-crazy.

That is so cool.  Thank you, CgrGrl, for doing this.
13  CSI General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Fair and Final Warning on: May 14, 2012, 09:13 AM
Obviously, I agree with Oldfanatic and the Professor.  We have discussed this together offline and will be watching closely in the future.  Deletions will occur if necessary.  None of us want to have to do that so let's all try to keep our posts friendly and on point.

That is really awesome, CgrGrl.  I would NEVER have the patience to do that, so thank you very much for doing it.  I was surprised at how many minutes the new girl was in it.  I didn't feel like she was on screen much at all - not sure what that says about her exactly.  I do remember thinking when Nick and Sara were walking down a hallway how very much I enjoy seeing them work together.  They just seem so comfortable with each other - almost as if they could finish each other's sentences.  I wish they could have more scenes together.

Again, thanks for doing this.

MadFoxzz, I have absolutely no idea how to do what you just suggested nor how much protection that offers our young ones.  So, I'll just say, as long as the scenes in the stories on our board stay PG, I'm fine with anything else you do.

Just glanced through a story that got a little detailed, so just a reminder, folks, don't get too graphic with your love scenes.  Keep the graphics on the FanFiction.net site, please.  Thanks.
